Answer #1

a) Weight of Mrs. Varner - 165lbs = 165× 0.45 = 74.25kg

Height of Mrs. Varner - 64inchs = 1.62m

Rationale for the BMI is to measure the fat content in the body

= Weight in kg / height in meter square

= 74.25 / 1.62× 1.62

= 74.25 / 2.62

= 28.3

b) Ideal body weight (IBW) (women) = 45.5 kg + 2.3 kg x (height in inches - 60)

= 45.5 kg + 2.3kg × ( 64 - 60 )

= 45.5 kg+ 2.3kg (4)

= 47.8 × 4

c) Waist circumference assessment steps :-

Start at the top of your hip bone, then bring the tape measure all the way around your body, level with your belly button.

Make sure it's not too tight and that it's straight, even at the back. Don't hold your breath while measuring.

Check the number on the tape measure right after you exhale.

d) Waist circumference of Varner is 38 inches

For women waist circumference more than 35 inches is abnormal and should consult a physician for next step including weight loss etc
