* Clean the skin with appropriate antiseptic
* Before inserting the central line, make sure that the antiseptic got dried off.
* Use barrer nursing( use of universal precautions like sterile gloves, gowns, cap, mask)
* Insert the central catheter properly and in place
* central catheter should be removed as soon as it no longer needed.
