1) Bronstead Lowery base is a solution which accepts a proton from the solution in the form of H+ ion. Example : Ammonia. Ammonia is a proton acceptor. It accepts a hydrogen atom from the water. While water is proton donor so it is called as Bronstead Lowery acid.

2) The conjugate base of NH3 is ammonium ion i.e. NH4+. NH3 is Bronstead Lowery base, so it accept a proton H+ and gets NH4+.

3) An amphoteric compound is a molecule that act as both acid and base in a reaction as per Bronstead Lowery theory. Example : water. Water has 2 hydrogen atoms so it can act as a acid. And also water has 2 lone pairs so it acts as a base.

4) pH = - log (H3O+​​​​​​)

pH = - log(4.2×10-6)

pH = - ( - 5.38)

pH = 5.38

5) Buffer is a solution which consists of weak acid and it's conjugate acid or weak base and it's conjugate base. When small amount of acid or base added to buffer which helps to resist pH change.
