she is hypotensive and afebrile. Her urine is checked and it is positive for glucose. The pediatrician

decides to send Mary for a CMP and an A1C. Her BG return at a value of 429 and her A1C is 10.

Describe what complication she is experiencing? What is her diagnosis?

Explain the pathophysiology.

Mary is admitted to the nearest acute care center. The health care provider orders:

VS q hour

Regular Insulin 0.1unit/Kg/hour and monitor BG level q hour

NS at 200 cc/hour

Two days after treating Mary, she is ready to be discharged with the diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes.

MARY'S NEW DIAGNOSIS IS- Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus.

MARY'S TREATMENT PLAN IS-

•Insulin- 1 unit/kg/day( high because Insulin is Required a bit more in Puberty)

•Eat healthy food,with accurate carbohydrate and low Fat

•Frequently Check blood sugar levels or as prescribed by paediatrician.

•Do regular Exercise

Yes teaching a 13 year old And An Adult teaching is Different

As Adult can Easily take Care of Themself Wheareas 13 year Cannot He/she has to be Cared by their Parents and they don't have Medical treatment rights before 14 years.....

ADVICES ADULTS SHOULD FOLLOW-

Call or Consult your Doctor-

• If patient have any signs of high blood sugar levels, such as blurred or double vision.

•If patient have signs of high ketone levels, such as breath has a fruity, sweet smell, or breathing is shallow.

•If patient have symptoms of a low blood sugar level, such as trouble thinking, sweating, or a pounding heartbeat.

•If patient blood sugar level is lower than normal and it does not improve with treatment.

•If there is any wound and it doesn't heal with time.

•If blood Sugar is Higher then target levels.

ADVICES FOR MARY

•Tell your parents for if you Feel Irritated Or Getting Sweated

•Tell your Parents If your Eyesight Become Weak

•Do tell your parents If Your Urine smell Fruity

• You Should Stay Away From Any kind of Smoke near you.
