Answer #1

4. The balanced chemical equations are

a. Alla-Seltzer reaction

3NaHCO3(aq) + C6H8O7(aq) --------> 3CO2(g) + Na3C6H5O7(aq) + 3H2O.

b. Unknown antacid reaction

CaCO3(aq) + 2HCl(aq) ------> CO2(g) + CaCl2(aq)+ H2O(l)

5. Citric acid is the limiting reagent.

1000 mg of citrric acid requires 252*1000/192 = 1312.5 mg of NaHCO3 but given mass of sodium bicarbonate is 1916 mg.
