Answer #1

6.Based on the activity series, A metal system which occurring above the given element, displaces the element from the aqueous solution containing its own ions. The single displacement reaction does not occur is

SnBr2(aq) + Cu(s)   -----> CuBr2(aq) + Sn(s)

7. A reaction in which both oxidation-reduction takes place simultaneously is called redox reaction.

                              Cu(s) + 2AgNO3(aq)    -----> Cu(NO3)2(aq) + 2Ag(s)

8. The number of moles of Ca(NO3)2= molarity * volume = 2*0.3 = 0.60 moles

i. e. The solution contains 0.60 moles of Ca(NO3)2, 0.60 moles of Ca2+ ions and 1.20 moles of NO3- ions

       The solution contains 3.60 moles of O atoms , 1.20 moles of N atoms.

The number of Ca2+ ions present in the 2.0 solution are 0.60 *6.023*1023 = 3.61 *10^23 ions

Therefore, the number of Ca2+ ions present in the 1.0 solution are 0.60 *6.023*1023 /2= 1.805 *10^23 ions.

Incorrect statement : 1.0 of solution contains 3.61 *10^23 Ca2+ ions is wrong

10. According to dilution law,

M1V1=M2V2   ===> 9*V1 = 2.75*350 =======> V1 = 107 mL

The 107 mL of 9.0 M solution of MgCl2 must be diluted in order to get 350 mL of 2.75 M solution
