Anthony recently suffered from a ruptured appendix. The morning started when his parents contacted ABC Pediatrics about his symptoms. He was advised to go directly to the emergency room. After several procedures, including CAT Scans and examinations, he was scheduled for an appendectomy. He was required to stay in the hospital for several days because of the severity of the case. After discharge, his parents became very confused because they received several bills from so many different places, some that they had never heard of before.

What type of bills might Anthony receive?

Why would they not recognize all of the offices the bills originated from?

Answer #1

Answer: Due to the several treatment procedures and diagnosis, the patient has got many types of bills. The bills includes summary, patient bills, physician bills as well as diagnosis bills.

All together itemized bill, billing statement has been issued to the patient. The summary bill consists of lists out the total charges for hospital visit, emergency ward charges, and is what the hospital submits to patient's insurer. Summary bills are often grouped by service categories, such as room and board, pharmacy, laboratory and operating room. This includes all the expenses along with the medication given to the patient.
