Inventories
Inventories are valued at the lower of cost or market. The cost of the majority of inventories is measured using the last in, first out (LIFO) method. Other inventories are measured principally at average cost and consist mostly of foreign inventories and certain raw materials. If the entire inventory had been valued on an average cost basis, inventory would have been higher by $500 and $340 at the end of 2018 and 2017, respectively.
During 2018, 2017, and 2016, liquidation of LIFO layers generated income of $7, $8, and $26, respectively.

Answer #1

4.

Receivables turnover ratio = Annual net credit sales / Average accounts receivable

=6400/663.5

=.9.65 times

Where accounts receivables = Trade debtors + Bills receivables

=(612+715)/2

=663.5

inventory turnover ratio=cost of good sold/average inventory

=5400/865.5

=6.24 times

where ,

average inventory=opening inventory+closing inventory/2

=1731/2

=865.5

Gross profit ratio=gross profit/sales

=(6400-5400)/6400

=1000/6400

=0.156

=15%

Hence, ( $ in million)

1.account receviable writte off=$2

2.cash collection=$6295

3.cost of good sold=$5560

4.a.receivable turn over ratio=9.65 times

4.b.inventory turnover ratio=6.24 times

4.c..gross profit ratio=15%
