Metal loses it electron which is accepted by the non metal lithium is a metal where is fluorine is a non metal which forms with fluoride.

So LiF , is an ionic compund.

While carbon dioxide aluminium chloride and barium chloride all contain covalent bond.

There is no bonding in copper because it's in elemental state.
