Answer #1

Please don't hesitate to give a "thumbs up " for the answer, in case you're satisfied with it.

So, mean = 45000

Stdev = 2700

So, 36900 is a outlier. the outlier is 45000-36900 = 8100 away from mean.

So, a point is an outlier if it is greater than 45000+8100 = 53100.

Tires last 45,000 miles on average with a standard deviation of θ = 2,700 miles. Tire life is considered outliers if less than or equal to 36,900 or greater than or equal to 53100
