In 1900 the biggest killer was an infectious disease, but sanitation, vaccinations, and antibiotics lessened the impact. By 2010, cardiac disease and cancer caused the most deaths. The lifespan has almost doubled.

In 1900 there were three major killer infectious diseases, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and diarrhea. Theses 3 disease causes almost 1/3 of the total death, between these deaths more than 40% percent was children below 5 years, But now due to epidemiological transition, lifestyle changes and technology advancement and innovation in health care the transition of infectious disease shifted to non-infectios disease(Non-communicable disease) like heart disease and cancer.
