Problem 6:

The beta of Air Canda Stock can be calculated with the use of following formula:

Beta of Air Canada Stock = Correlation between Air Canada Stock and Market Index*(Air Canada Stock Standard Deviation/Market Index Standard Deviation)

Substituting values in the above formula, we get,

Beta of Air Canada Stock = .45*(18%/8%) = 1.0125 or 1.01 (answer)
