Sudden infant deaths : it is an unexplained death during in the age of less than a year old, it may occurs usually during the sleep and due to asphyxia.

Some times it also known as crib death, because baby death in the crib.

Interventions of sudden infant death :

* provide supine position and slightly elevated head for the new born, that means with small towel support, but should not keep pillows under head, because prone and side sleeping position may cause the decreased oxygen supply to body cells and death may happens.

* soft bedding and bed sharing should be avoid, and provide comfortable bedding and alone bed to the infant, because bed sharing also may cause for SID.

* avoid inappropriate bed surfaces and provide appropriate and comfortable bedding.

* avoid exposure to tobacco smoking and other passive smoking, which may leads to inadequate oxygen supply.

* prematurity also one of the cause for infant death syndrome, so for premature babies we need to educate mother regarding provide only breast feed by using good feedings techniques to avoid aspiration.

* need to provide complete immunization.

Education and prevention of sudden infant death syndrome :

* educate mother regarding exclusive breastfeeding.

* educate regarding comfortable and safety sleeping environment.

* advise mother to take complete immunization for infant.

* educate mother regarding avoid position like prone and sidelying positions.

* avoid exposure to tobacco smoking before and after birth of the baby.

* should not cover the baby face and mouth and nose while sleeping.
