Compare and contrast the Atkins and Ketogenic diet: A) ketogenic diet : a) it is based on eating a specific percentage of macronutrients such as high fats(70% - 80% of daily calories ) and adequate proteins( 20-25% of dailt calories) and low carbohydrates(10% of daily calories), and it boosts exercise performance ,b) the ketogenic diet was founded back in1924 by Dr.Russell wilder and it is initially used for treating epilepsy.keto diet can be followed depending upon the body size , and age and weight etc and it is a temporary diet , c) it is high fat, and protein and low carb diet and it focus on dietary fat forces the body to use ketones for energy apecial energy molecules made from fat that are cleaner and more efficient than glucose , in the absence of carbohydrates for an extended period of time the liver converts stored fat into ketones and this acts as energy currency of the cell, the elevated levels of ketone know as nutritional ketosis which is the goal of keto diet. f) the high fat diet is the contributes to success of the keto diet,g) keto side effects , and stopping in between , and no taking the keto diet correctly leads to the failure of the diet, h)the type of professional who conduct the program are doctors , dietitian , nutritionist , nurse, wellness coaches etc.i)cost and required purchases:the keto diet can be followed in the budget by carefully buying the ingredients within the budget( cost depends upon the client choices) the ingredients are water, cream cheese , greek yogrut, meet and vegetables and leafy vegtables and fats and less of cereals etc, j) avialbility : it is easily available, k)possible risks:keto diet are keto flu, diarrhea, ketoacidosis , weight regain, risk of kidney stones etc. l)claims : that it taking unhealthy twist likeeating junk food to reduce the weight, m) the appropriate candiates are :people with epilepsy and cancer and arthritis etc, 12) the results : the ketone production starts within 2 to 7 days and the weight loss is very fast depending upon the client body weight etc, 13) it is fast weight resuction process and it is strength is always feel energtic and not so hungey and weakness are it side effeccts such diahhare a, flu, constipation and rash etc. 14) long termeffectiveness : it should not be maintained, B) Atkins diet:a) it is the reducing carbohydrates intake triggered weight loss without significant hunger b) the diet was proposed by Robert coleman atkins, an american phyisican and cardiologist in 1963 ,c) the standard atkins diet called atkins 20 which limits more carb and is designed for people with more than 40 pounds to lose and a new liberal version called atkins 40 which allows more carbs and is designed for people with less than 40 pounds to lose, d)weight loss claims because it low carb approach makes switch to fat burning mode so there will be acelerated fat loss e) failure : due to cheating the diet. f) types of professional : doctors , nurses , dietian etc, f) costs depends upon the client food choices and ingredients aremore meat, fish, eggs and then vegetable and then friuits and vegtables and seed oils cheese and dairy , nuts and legumes and least is whole grains etc.g) avialbility : it is avialble depends on the place, h) risks:bad breathe,y mout drh, tirdeness and dizeness and insoimina and nausea increase in heart disease etc. i) claims: it claims that obesity and health problems are fault of the typical low fat and high carbohydrate american diet and in atkins diet there is no need to avoid the fatty cuts of meat, controlling carbs is important,j) appropriate candiadates :for weight loss clients etc, k) results : the weight loss is quick and it cut most process ed cabs and alcohol the results seen depends on the client body configration.l)mostly as keto diet but slight modification, good for wieght and regaining of weight. is also fast. m)if the weight loss is maitained then the long term effectivenss is good if not it is not good.
