Variable cost per machine hour = Change in Cost/Change in machine hour = (30000-14000)/(17000-7000) = 1.60 per MH

Fixed cost = 30000-(17000*1.60) = 2800

Total power cost on 10000 MH = (10000*1.60)+2800 = 18800

So answer is a) $18800
