For the past several years, ICD-10-CM/PCS has been in the forefront of healthcare news. The extended implementation delays created challenges for all of the stakeholders in the healthcare industry.

In your post, state your current perception of ICD-10-CM/PCS. Though ICD10 is a good advancement in medicine to code diseases and used for varied reasons. There are something which is necessary to be incorporated in ICD11 to avoid error and provide a good quality of care.

Few opinions are

  • Patient details should also be mentioned in certain diseases
  • The difficulty in making definitive diagnosis has to be sorted out in ICD11
  • most if the time there is incompatibility of physician while coding
  • Production is reduced or decreased due to delay process
  • Reimbursement is difficult due to coding
  • There is a decreased cash flow
  • The claim error and delay in coding has to be sorted out.
