Answer #1

Total cost to account for = Beginning work in process cost + Costs added during October

= 3,000 + 25,560

= $28,560

Total units = Work in process, beginning + units started

= 6,000 + 50,000

= 56,000 units

Material cost per unit = Total material cost/Total units

= 28,560/56,000

= $0.51

Work in process, Oct 31 = Work in process, Oct 1 + Units started - Units completed

= 6,000 + 50,000 - 44,000

= 12,000 units

Material cost of work in process at Oct 31 = Work in process, Oct 31 x Cost per unit

= 12,000 x 0.51

= $6,120

kindly give a positive rating if you are satisfied with the solution. Please ask if you have any query related to the question, Thanks.
