Both agreed they were in love with each other and would remain faithful. They decided to have sex and didnt feel like they needed condoms. About 1 week after having sex, Andy noticed a watery discharge from his penis and pain in his testicles. He had a sore throat so went to his doctor thinking he had strep throat. The Dr. did a culture and didnt find anything Sent Andy home with antiviral medicine and suggested he take some Tylenol for the pain. Andy didnt get better and went back to his doctor. The sore throat was gone but still had a discharge from his penis. The doctor did a culture of the watery discharge and told Andy he could have an STI. Sexually Transmitted infections are transmitted only through the unprotected sexual contact.The pathogens in the sexually transmitted infection may be a bacteria,viruses or a parasites

According to the given data Andy and Angela being and monogamous and practicing safe sex with out.During the sex they didn't feel like they needed condoms.After about one week of sex he developed some symptoms in the genital area and throat.

1.According to the data given about after one week of the sex without using condoms Andy developed a watery discharge from penis and pain in his testicles and had a sore throat.After consultation with the doctor and received antiviral treatment and in the culture and shows negative.The doctor prescribed an antiviral treatment and sent to home. Andy didn't get better and went back to his doctor.The culture of the watery discharge shows postive and have STI.

According to the given information regarding the symptoms and medications and regarding the changes after receiving the antiviral medicine Andy is having chlamydia trachomatis,is a sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria.

2.If they followed a 100% monogamous relationship also there may be a chance of transmission of disease,if the bacteria is active during the sexual contact and they didn't use the condoms while during the sex.

Any way most of the womens are asymptomatic if they are having the infection.

It is better to go for a STI screening if postive receive treatment,otherwise if she is infected later there may be chance of occurence of pelvic inflammatory disease if untreated it is a most severe form of infection or complication.

3.Persons with chlamydia should abstain from sexual activity and it is treatable condition.

Mostly the doctors will prescribe a 7-day course of antibiotics with azithromycin or doxycycline.

4. Most mens do not develop any serious complications from the infection

But sometimes it may infect epididymis that can cause pain,fever and rarely infertlity

Some times it may spread to prostate gland

Reactive arthrirtis,where the arthritis that happens as a reaction to an infection in the body

In females if left untreated it can leads to pelvic inflammatory disease and fertility problems

5.Females

*Have to avoid oral sex if the partner having any sores or wound in the mouth or throat

*Do not douche.it may increase the chance of infection

For males

*Use condoms during the sexual contact

*Avoid having oral sex if he have any strep throat

*Use protection during oral sex

*STI screening
