Cash & cash equivalent is $ 11,356 in 2019 and $ 11,946 in 2018 as per the balance sheet of microsoft corporation.

As per the balance sheet, it represents that microsoft has the robust liquidity and such cash & cash equivalent can be used for their contingencies (if become liability) mentioned in the notes to accounts or for investing in any future project which would maintain their debt equity ratio. Though the amount of cash & cash equivalent is reduced by $ 590 because of the higher cash outflow in financing & investing activity in 2019 as compared to 2018.

Most of the cash comes from the Operating activity as per the cash flow statement because of the higher net income in 2019 as comparison to previous years. Also, in financing & investing activity cash outflow is higher as comparison to previous years which reduces the cash inflow of operating activity.
