I'm looking for an easier way of solving these type of problems than the long way my ATI book is teaching us. Please see below:

A nurse is preparing to administer magnesium sulfate 1 g/hr by continuous IV infusion. Available is magnesium sulfate 1 g in dextrose 5% in water (D5W) 100 mL. The nurse should set the IV pump to deliver how many mL/hr?

The nurse should set the IV pump to deliver at the rate 100 mL/hr. (As 1 gram has to be given in one hour and 1 gram is present in 100ml).
