#. Assessment made are :-

Age of the patient - 92 years

Weight of the patient - 120lbs = 54kg

Height of the patient is 5foot 2inches

Suspected of -CVA

Is ordered to be NPO based on barium swallow examination

Has history of Osteoporosis and Hypothyroidism

Taking thyroxine for hypothyroidism

#. Her energy ,protein and fluid intake according to the assessment done :-

Energy required - 1600 to 2000 calories for a women who is sedentary to active

Protein requirement = 0.9g/ kg /day

= 0.9× 54/ day

= 48.6 gm of protein is required

Fluid intake per day = 1500 ml is the minimum water intake with 15ml fluid per kg to be added for the actual weight minus 20 kg.

= 1500+ (15× 54) - 20

= 1500+ 510 ml

= 2010 ml is her fluid requirement
