1) At 99% confidence level, the critical value is z0.005 = 2.58

The 99% confidence interval is

= 52±4.51

2) DF = 17 - 1 = 16

At 80% confidence level, the critical value is t* = 1.337

            = 6.6

3) At 99% confidence level, the critical value is z0.005 = 2.58

The 99% confidence interval is

20.4 = 20.8 +2.58 + 1050

= 20.8 +1.6

DF = 9 - 1 = 8
