Answer #1

Question 1 )

Data

22,24,28,31,35

Mean = sum /n = 140/5 = 28

(Xi - mean )² = (36, 16, 0, 9, 49)

SSdif = sum(Xi - mean )² =110

Sample standard deviation = sqrt [ ( SSdif / n-1 ) ]

Sd = sqrt ( 27.5 ) = 5.24

Answer :- 5.2

Question 2 )

We know that

Relative frequency = current frequency / total frequency

We have to find total frequency

Consider class 22-29

0.16 = 4 / TF

TF = 4 / 0.16 = 25

Now find the missing frequency

Total frequency = Sum of all frequency

25 = 4+6+x+5 = 15+x

x = 25 - 15 = 10

This is the frequency of class 40-49
