He wasn't sure which was worse, the "morning after" headache or not being able to sleep at night. At least when he had a few beers under his belt so he could catch a few hours of sleep. It had been like this since he was air evacuated back stateside from Afghanistan after the roadside bomb went off. He was thankful that he had only broken his leg in a couple of places and gotten a bad bump on the head. They called that traumatic brain injury but he didn't know what that was and really didn't believe them anyway. He was still thinking just fine. His friend Joe wasn't so lucky! How was Joe going to learn to walk on those artificial legs? He was still in the hospital in Washington, DC. That was pretty far from his home. Eddie wished he could visit Joe. They had been in the same platoon for 9 months. But, Eddie was glad that he had been able to come back to his own home town for outpatient treatment. It took an hour to get here but at least he could see his girl almost every day. Sure he had moved back in with his mom but it was easier to have someone to help him get around and cook for him. It was a bummer that he couldn't work right now. He guessed it didn't matter much since he really didn't have a job to go back to. He had been replaced at the plant. They said they would find something for him to do once he could get around more easily. Eddie sure hoped the doc would take the pins out of his leg today and give him a clearance to work.

* it was given by Sister Callisa Roy.

* it focuses on interrelatedness of four adoptive systems.

1. Physiological mechanisms.

2. Self concept

3. Role function

4. Interdependence

According to clients history ,

* physiological mechanisms sgt. Eddie, he is not having adequate sleep, and having head ache severe, due to that only no sleep. And broken leg also physical problem.

* so if we implement the model or adopt the model he needs adequate rest and sleep and by reducing pain by using analgesics and comfortable devices.

2. Self concept according to this the client need psychological support and spiritual support and integrity of those.

* to develop self confidence.

3. Role function : here needs social integrity involves the role development.

* here the nurse can clearly explain the condition of the client regarding his problem like he is having a bump on head and traumatic brain injury etc.

* because here the client still thinking he is fine like that.

* so the clear understanding of problem is essential to the client.

* that means he can able to know his role function.

4. Interdependence : it means needs to achieve a relational integrity by using a process of affectionate adequacy.

* here the nurse must have to provide comprehensive care and health care services by in a trusty relationship, or therapeutic relationships.

* so that the client can adopt the stimuli which will be given by nurses the client will be develops coping process to that stress and changes the client behavior.

Roy's adaptation model should influences the assessment of behavior of client, assessment of stimuli to change that behavior of client.

Roy's adaptation model is important for nurses to listen in clients own words, because here the nurse can understand the exact problems of the client, what he is experiencing.

Because client only to develop the coping for stress or adopt for stress.

Neuman system model :

It was developed by doctor Neumans in 1970.

According to this theory four stressors includes :

1. Inter personal :

It means with in the persons, according to case study with in the persons stressors are, 'pain' including head ache, leg pains etc.

'Loss' includes legs loss those are the body parts which are important.

' sensory deprivation ' they client may not getting sleep properly. And also not able to walk with out help.

'cultural change ' due to loss the stigma may arrises in the people.

2. Intra personal stressors : occurs between the individuals, here Sgt. Eddie want to meet the Mr. Joe, but it can not with out Help.

So it is also one of the stress.

Nursing care according to neuman system theory :

* assess the patient in holistic way like physiological support, psychological support, sociocultural support, and developmental support.

* help the patient to prevent illness.

* educate parents about well being and how patient can strengthen resistance to stressors.

* review the patients progress, bearing in mind the continuum of care.

* settings goals are important to measures the patient's improvement.
