Initial temperature (T1) = 250 oC = (250 + 273) K = 523 K

Initial volume (V1) = 250.0 mL

Final volume (V2) = 125 mL

Let us say that the final temperature of the gas = T2

From Charles law,

V1/T1 = V2/T2

or, 250.0 mL/523 K = 125 mL/T2

or, T2 = 261.5 K

          = (261.5 - 273) oC

          = - 11.5 oC

Hence, the temperature at which the gas will occupy 125 mL = - 11.5 oC
