1.The answer is option e- Mitochondria
MtDNA is inherited from the mother (maternally inherited) in most multicellular organisms. Mechanisms for this include simple dilution (an egg contains an average of 200,000 mtDNA molecules, while a healthy human sperm has been documented to contain an average of 5 molecules) sperm mtDNA degradation in the male genital tract and fertilized egg; and failure of sperm mtDNA to penetrate the egg, at least in a few species. Whatever the mechanism, in most animals, most plants, and also in fungi, this single parent (uniparental inheritance) pattern of mtDNA inheritance is found.
2. The reason for these negative externalities, otherwise known
as social costs, is that they are not generally included in the
calculation of production costs.
Government intervention is needed to help the negative
externalities of the "price." They do this by establishing
regulations or market-based policies such as taxes, subsidies, or
permit systems.
Governments can use either legislation (e.g. banning action) or market solutions. Governments can accomplish two things by creating laws such as pollution fines, allowing private parties to recover damages for illegal acts, and levying environmental taxes. First, they collect funds to help fix the damage caused by negative externalities. Second, these acts help to put the social costs at a financial price. Businesses may achieve a more accurate figure for the cost of production with that data. Businesses can then stop producing products that surpass financial returns in financial and social costs.
