Comparison of TQM- Total quality management and six sigma in quality improvement :-

TQM :-

- focus on continuous improvement

- approach is based on any specific methodology . It makes everyone aware of and responsible for quality in all aspects of organization.

- it improves revenue by reducing errors

- it's methodology is to plan ,do , check and act

Six sigma :-

- focus on perfection to achieve a performance of 3.4 DPMO

- it approch by reducing the variation and center the process on a target to maximize process capability

- it improves revenue by identifying and eliminating defects

- it's methodology is to define the problem , then measure the current state of the process , analyse , improve and control .
