What is cultural conservatism?  Cultural conservatism often conflicts with the country’s economic interest in relation to immigration.  How does his occur?  Does cultural conservatism or economic interests prevail?  Give three historical examples when these interests are in conflict.  In your response, be sure to highlight how both interests have been important for developing the country’s immigration and economic policies.

Cultural conservatism can be described the reluctance of the native people with a different and a unique set of culture, to accept a group of people from a different culture or the preservation of the heritage of one nation, or of a shared culture that is not defined by national boundaries.

Mostly immigrants are from a different set of culture and the people from the native community do not feel very happy to accept the culture of the immigrants due to cultural conservatism. Immigration helps an economy by increasing supply of labor thereby increasing income and consumption in the country.

Muslim immigrants to Germany from Turkey, Hindus and Sikhs in Australia, are examples of cultural conservatism against immigration, even though economic interests were in favor of conservatism.
