In your new EHR system, the software flags diagnoses that must be reported to the state's mandatory reporting list. Your physician (Dr. A) has been treating a fellow physician (Dr. B). Dr. B's labwork has just come back positive for gonorrhea. Dr. A tells you that she will not report this to the state health agency and will not enter it into the medical record as a professional courtesy to Dr. B, but will just treat Dr. B with the antibiotic samples that the drug rep left at your practice. Dr. A also tells you that she will not charge Dr. B for the treatment, as this is part of professional courtesy, and so no record of claims or billing need to be created. Dr. A asks for your discretion and that you will just "treat this under the table". 1. What are you going to do? 2. How would you combine your ethics and morals of your character to be a SERVANT when seeking a solution to this challenge? 3. What are some of the potential repercussions of your action or inaction?

Answer #1

1.A doctor can treat an otger dictor which is legal and the insur ance company doesn't charge for it.Charging between professionals seems to be undignified.

2.The Dr A.doesn't want Dr.B's medical condition to be revealed, this is unethical because he has an infectious disease which has to be reported as per the law to the CDC.

He should not be given under the table treatment which is against medical practice

When Dr.A doesn't reveal or record this in the electronic records, the dispensing of antibiotic for a particular disease cannot be measured

A doctor can provide his service to another doctor which is morally good

3.The potential repercussion to this action of dealing this confidentially is not legal and it is a medical malpractice of not disclosing an infectious disease

An recording and tracking of these infectious disease by CDC can be hampered leading to wrong data records

It is equally important for Dr.B's (if married)wife to know this to take appropriate action ,keeping this confidential can risk another life

Please read the article and answer about questions. You and the Law Business and law are inseparable. For B-Money, the two predictably merged when he was negotiat- ing a deal for his tracks. At other times, the merger is unpredictable, like when your business faces an unexpected auto accident, product recall, or government regulation change. In either type of situation, when business owners know the law, they can better protect themselves and sometimes even avoid the problems completely. This chapter...
