It shall be noted that the the terminology "Selling" and "Marketing" are distinct terms used in marketing management and their usage is made to indicate significant act performed in the course of bringing seller & buyer together , for brand building. Even when there is a given business activity, it would not be appropriate to use these two terms alternatively. While "Selling" is act to sell, "marketing" is act to make customer aware of a product, generate interest for the product and increase brand value for the product.

Hence, it is not correct to say that "Selling" and "Marketing" are interchangeable terms that can be used when there is same business activity being addressed.
