Answer #1

more than 6 lakh people died because of a drug overdose in the US with more than 3 lakh deaths are due to opioids. when a person has changed in terms of their moral attributes, then their memory, personality, desires, preferences also gets changed. from a physician's point of view, prescribing opioids as pain killers is a sign of control and relief, but from a person's perspective, it is obviously a drug that creates its addiction. medical ethics say that opioids are indispensable, and therefore they are freely dispensed by pharmacists but now things have been changed and these types of medical decisions are into the hands of the patients. opioid prescription comes with a lot of risk including the risk of addiction and other side affects, as a result, many patients believe that opioids are saving their lives and its withdrawal will be terrified. keeping all these into consideration, it has been concluded that opioids are important only for acute, surgical, and post-traumatic pain.
