We have learned that there are two types of agency problems:
agency problems between shareholders and management, and agency
problems between shareholders and creditors. A special phenomenon
in China’s corporate governance practice is the existence of a
third type of agency problem, namely, the agency problem between
major shareholders and minority in order to maximize their own
interests.
