Answer #1

a)
No
P(A and B) can never be more tha min(P(A) ,P(B))
b)

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)
= 0.6+0.4-0.3
=0.7

C)
1 - P(A or B) = 0.3

d)
P(A) - P(A and B)
= 0.6 - 0.3 = 0.3

e)
P(A) + P(B) - 2 P(A and B)
= 0.6 + 0.4 - 2 * 0.3
= 0.4
