1a) Number of signals in 1H-NMr = Number of chemically non-equivalent protons.

b) Spectrum 1: Since four signals are obtained and a doublet hence molecule contain four different kind of protons and CH group. It is second compound.

Spectrum 2 : Since four signals are obtained and two triplets and two multiplet thus it is first compound.
