In my view, it is important to separate these issues and focus on what's most important. In this case the most issue is that the young need to have access to education rather than being forced to worked in factories. So an ethical company should invest in development of communities (schools, housing, medical facilities, etc.) around these factories and provide employment opportunities to those of working age rather than to 11 and 12 year olds.
It is also important to realize that a price advantage is probably only a short term benefit, whereas the benefits of being a socially-conscious enterprise are longer term and more sustainable.
