Answer #1

Number of person years required is 900 person years.

4 rows were given and each row should have 900 person years. The time give in four rows is 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and 10 years

number of people required for observation and study =  (person years required) / (number of years or average time at risk)

Number or person years required in each row = 900

First row, time = 1 year

people required = (900)/1 which is 900 people

Second row, time = 2 years

people required = 900/2 which is 450 people

Third row, time = 3 years

people required = 900/3 which is 300 people

Fourth row, time = 10 years

people required = 900/10 which is 90 people
