Answer #1

Because the right size pump is indeed coming at a lower cost than that of the two pump model and apart from that it is also seen that the two pump model has higher maintenance costs than that of single pump model where there's also scrap value for older pump of sold this would add on the benefit in the single pump model, in all the departments buying the right size pump is benefitting the purpose and therefore spending$90,000 and buying the right pump would be the apt choice.

Background: During your first business class, you saw the opportunity to bring white paper squares to the Salisbury University market. On a whim, you started manufacturing low quality, thin, white, flexible squares of paper. Shockingly, your business took off and the company was successful in competing in a saturated market. Seeing the need for diversification, you launched a new specialty product with the hope of increasing sales and setting the business apart. With moderately good recording keeping and a solid...

Elroy had been with Barnes Machine Company a year since finishing a BS in industrial engineering (IE). Barnes had been in business for over 50 years, but the company had only recently moved from Detroit to Gainesville, Georgia. The public reason for the move was the economics of the old facility. Privately, based on comments he had heard, Elroy believed a shift to nonunion labor was a larger motive. Elroy’s boss is the production supervisor, Mr. Hill. Because the plant...

RANDLEMAN, N.C. -- The future of century-old bearing maker Timken Co. rests on an old axiom: The sum is greater than its parts.
