  • Nurse should make the patient aware of the bladder muscle exercise to control the urine.

  • Nurse should teach patient to be aware of sensation of urge of urination.
• Intermittent urinary catheterization:
  • Nurse should empty the bag every 2-4 hours.
  • The bag should be emptied if the bag is half filled.
  • The drainage should be below bladeer.
  • The drainage bag should be dried well to prevent from infection.
• Suprapubic catheter:
  • The catheter should be cleansed properly.
  • The area should be dry.
  • The area should be washed with soap and water after every bowel movement.
