REASONS FOR THE FLOURISH OF ARTS

Edo is a period in Japan, it is also known as Tokugawa period. The period is in between 1603 and 1868 and characterized by the Edo Bakufu [ feudal military government ]. The period is observed as one of the most important period that has witnessed a tremendous development in many fields especially in the field of arts.

The major reasons for the flourish of arts includes; the foreign relationship with the the other countries, although the foreign relationships are controlled it still has some impact over the flourish of the art forms. And also there a humming urban Culture had developed, which also has a major role in this development of the art. The Kabuki theater formed at that time is a good example for that. And also Edo period saw a intensified circulation of visual vocabulary and different medium. The Neo-confucianist ideas formed at that time also has a significance in this matter.

CHANGE

The Autistic works became more realistic at that time. One of the most important painter at that period is Matsumura Keibun, and that man really depicts more realistic images like he portrays the images of birds, flowers and animals.
