The first time the nurse practitioner saw her and prescribed her antibiotics. So she just wants you to give her a prescription. She comes into today with her children to drop them off at the sitters so she can be to work in 30 minutes. What can you do as a nurse to help Mary and what would be an appropriate treatment plan for Mary and what antibiotics should or should not be prescribed.

As a nurse, I prescribe her a urine culture examination. But before getting the urine culture examination, can prescribe those antibiotics:

1. Amoxycilliln
2. Ciprofloxacin
3. Ceftriaxone
4. Bactrim

These antibiotics can be prescribed without urine culture,ESR examination. Instruct Mary to take antibiotics as prescribed, and get the urine examination result from the clinic later when when she will free of work and notify the result to clinical practitioner to alter the treatment plan if necessary.
