Answer #1

Epilepsy affects different ways in every epileptic child. The support and care should be given to him according to the way he react to the condition. Some childrens may have major problems with their learning and behaviour.

I will try to understand the risk of learning of child. Sometimes they miss their lessons due to absense seizures. It is good to have a teaching assistant for the child to watch and provide the information missed in the class. Keep a regular contact with the child’s teacher or special education need coordinator. They will guide you to apply to the local assessment for the child.

The local authority will make a decision whether the child need special education or not. If yes they will send draft to you and then the child can attend a special need school. They may give special education needs, health needs, social care, advice and information etc.

The child when grows can attend epilepsy training sections. Memory, attention and concentration, speech and language difficulties, behaviour problems are assessed and provide required support to the child by the training sessions.

As the child getting older then educate about his abnormalities and tell to be conscious about it.
