Answer #1

ordered Amiodarone= 540 mg

available = 150mg/3ml= 50 mg/ml

as per prdered dose required Amiodarone in ml= ?

By using dimension analysis:

540/1 X1 ml/50= 10.8 ml

1 vial of Amiodarone contains= 3ml

hence for 10.8 ml required vial= 10.8/3= 3.6 vials means 4 vials will be required.

as given 540 mg amiodarone in 250 ml dextrose and the dextrose is taken 5 % means 5 g in 100 ml

Again applying dimension analysis the amount of dextrose in mg the pattient will recieve=250/a X 5/100= 12.5 g= 12500 mg as 1g=1000mg
