Grandparents have a crucial role in raising their grandchild’s even though parents are more important aspect to that. The generation when nuclear family is getting more prevalent having grandparents in the family has may benefits for new born care.

· Grandparents are valuable resources with lot of experience in handling different situation and thereby will have an upper hand about knowledge regarding caring of a new born baby.

· Many times after the delivery the mother goes to post natal depression or anxiety and they may have issues to care the baby but with grandparents support such situation can be easily handled and with their presence it is like an additional care for the newborn.

· Traditional technique of baby care such as bathing the baby in laps and feeding the baby properly will be well known to the grandmother than mother as they have more experience in handling the baby then the parents.

· Grandparents provide a sense of security to the parents on the newborn care, if something goes wrong also parents feel they have someone immediately to help them and can trust them more than others.

· Grandparents are considered as an affordable option of child care, as the service whatever they does is purely in the relationship basis and hence the quality of care will be exceptional and no other services by the any other baby care option will not match such a care even though we have to pay money for such services. For example -A babysitter who will charge for their services but could never match the care given by the grandparents.
