Your patient is an 87 y/o female who lives at home and has limited ROM in her RUE. Please provide a preparatory, purposeful, and occupation based intervention for this patient.

Preparatory, purposeful, and occupation based intervention for this patient :

1. She will receive joint mobilizations to the radiocarpal and intercarpal joints to improve joint mobility.

2. She will apply static stretches to increase ROM.

3. She will begin strengthening excercises for her entire RUE, including her shoulder girdle,elbow ,wrist and hand intrinsics for increase both static and dynamic strength.

4. she will do manually dexterity exercises with her right hand to improve her coordination.

5. she will also do some functional training (according to the age) to mimic the activities that she will have to do according to her body capacity to prepare for her return to normal condition.

6. She will apply ice after therapy to decrease the risk of pain or swelling,following exercise and mobilizations.
