    Cancer

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells anywhere in a body. These abnormal cells are termed cancer cells, malignant cells, or tumor cells. These cells can infiltrate normal body tissues.

A cancer mortality rate is the number of deaths, with cancer as the underlying cause of death, occurring in a specified population during a year. Cancer mortality is usually expressed as the number of deaths due to cancer per 100,000 population.

Cancer mortality rate can be calculated by using the formula:

                 Mortality Rate = (Cancer Deaths / Population) × 1000

    In this scenario,

Mortality rate in the Breast Cancer can be calculated by:

                       Mortality Rate = (Cancer Deaths / Population) × 1000

                                                = 19 / 410 × 1000

                                                = 46%

Mortality rate in the Prostate Cancer can be calculated by:

                    Mortality Rate = (Cancer Deaths / Population) × 1000

                                             = 12 / 389 × 1000

                                             = 30%
