* Sex Disparity - Osteoporosis in Women
3. SERVICES OFFERED TO DISPARITIES IN COMMUNITY :
* For Childhood Obesity :- Childhood obesity is showing a great effect on children's health status. Overweight or Obesity is making children to become more obese and even conditions worse with uncontrolled weight leads to cardiac problems. To reduce the incidence rates of childhood obesity certain services have to be offered to reduce future complications. Services offered are :
1. Assess age of the child
2. Obtain family history of obesity
3. Monitor weight by performing health check ups daily
4. Collect nutritional diet pattern of the child
5. Plan a diet plan which is rich in nutrients and less in carbohydrates
6. Educate parents to be supportive to child
7. Participate children in mild exercises daily
8. Awareness programs on obesity related topics, their effects on children's health
Therefore the above mentioned services the obesity level can be reduced to some level.
* For Osteoporosis In Women : Osteoporosis is one the disorder of bone where bone loss is more, leading to break or weakening of bone from mild falls or in complicated fractures. It is otherwise called as Porous Bone. Pore formation is seen in the bones especially in the women in the age group of above 50 years and more. Women who is in the stage of menopause this condition is seen frequently due to harmone imbalances of estrogen and progesterone. Services offered to this disparity are :
1. Assess for age group of women
2. Perform for bone density, bone mass tests
3. Assess for calcium levels in the blood
4. Perform blood tests
5. Administer calcium supplements to women
6. Advice not to lift heavy weights and loads
7. Educate usage of protective and assisted devices to protect from sudden falling
8. Educate patient and family members on complications and risks of osteoporosis.
Hence by providing the above services to disparity group can help in improvement of helth status in community areas.
