Drop factor is 60gtt/min

Volume of D5W is 100ml

Instruction is to dilute 500mg of cefoxitin in 100ml of D5W and infuse in 45 min = 2700hr

Flow rate = total volume / total time × drop factor

= 100/ 2700 ×60

= 2.2ml/hour
