Since regression is run between amount of smoking

Two independent variable :

1) grade - which can be maniuplated

2) type of class - which is an attribute and hence cannot be manipulated by researcher

extraneous variables are those which are not directly included in regression but do affect the regression results, and should be controlled for

since regression is run on the data of girls of high school students, hence it comprises our study population
