Class I sodium channel blockers are anti arrhythmic agents tht block to and bind the fast sodium channels that are responsible for rapid depolarization.these are divided into Ia,Ib,Ic depending upon rate of sodium channel binding and dissociation as indicated by the recovery time constant.

Class IB,they have fast onset and offset kinetic potential.they have more effects at faster heart rate.these agents will decrese vmax in particular cells and increase action potential.
