I agree with the statement because Caribbean economies have given less attention to the production of cash crops and lacked the use of advanced techniques, farm mechanization and better quality seeds to produce a good production from the given agricultural land area. The farmers are also not getting adequate support from the government. It is one of the reasons for the underdevelopment in Caribbean economies.
B.
I disagree with the statement, because main source of income for the Caribbean economies is the travel and tourism sector. So, more attention is required by the travel and tourism sectors in terms of development of tourist spots, better quality hospitality services so that it can generate revenue across the year. Hence, focus should be travel and tourism sector, rather on the agricultural sector under plantation economy.
